A recycled bar stool, built to last
The Newport Stool was born from a simple goal: to design the first recycled bar stool made entirely in France. Available in three heights, the Pinte (75 cm), the Demi (65 cm) and the Galopin (45 cm), it was built for intensive professional use: bars, restaurants, hotels, breweries and coworking spaces. The seat comes in 8 shades and the steel frame in more than 100 colours, to suit every social space.
Material and manufacturing
The seat is shaped from Balt®, an eco-material made of brewers' spent grain and recycled bio-based food packaging: just 2 litres of beer are enough to produce one Newport seat. No petrochemical binder, no epoxy resin: Balt® is a material that is 100% bio-based and 100% recycled. The steel frame is made 10 km from our Nantes workshop with 30% recycled steel.

What we get asked the most.
Our recycled stool is graded A by Eco-Impact. This independent body carries out a Life Cycle Assessment across 71 criteria covering raw materials, transport, durability and social impact. Our stools are also certified "Made in France" by the French customs authority.
Our products are 100% designed and made in France: our seats, made from brewers' spent grain and recycled food packaging, are produced in our Nantes workshop. Our solvent-free powder-coated steel frames contain 30% recycled steel and are made 10 minutes from our workshop.
Yes. Balt® takes a load of 180 kg and resists knocks, scratches and daily cleaning. The seat is treated for professional environments (cafés, hotels, restaurants) and comes with a 5-year warranty.
Standard care, no special protocol: a damp cloth is enough day to day. For stubborn marks, any neutral household cleaner will do. Balt® is built to withstand intensive professional use.
The Galopin (45 cm) suits low tables and lounge areas. The Demi (65 cm) is the classic counter height (worktop or low bar). The Pinte (75 cm) is the standard bar height, for poseur tables or islands. All come in 8 Balt® finishes and 100+ steel colours.

Each stool is made from 2 litres of beer.
Yes, more than 100 RAL shades are available. A flat fee of €120 excl. VAT per custom colour applies (black and white included at no extra cost). The online configurator lets you preview every combination in 3D.
Yes, the Newport Stool is delivered ready to use. No assembly required.
Production of the Newport Stool takes 6 to 8 weeks from order confirmation. Deliveries are arranged direct from our Nantes workshop, across France and Europe.
No, the Newport Stool is designed for indoor use only. We are currently working on an outdoor range, more to come.
